I specialize in affirming therapy to treat anxiety, stress, trauma, PTSD, and burnout in marginalized populations such as LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent folx (ADHD, autism, giftedness, learning differences, twice-exceptional) who are struggling with identity development amidst inadequate acceptance and inclusion from institutions and individuals important to them and to their lives, and who often experience higher incidents of victimization and internalized shame.
My mission aligns with affirming individual identities as an important part of therapy aimed at easing trauma from marginalization and supporting wellness. I’ll help you to stop accepting or adopting negative messages communicated to you by others past or present so that you can begin to heal from past wounds and trauma; and develop a strong, affirming sense of self.
Together we can work to identify and let go of the pain, fear, and damaging messages from the past, so that they have less control over you today. We can explore what is holding you back from living your life fully, and consider how to help you build the skills and make the changes that you need to get you there. I welcome people of all genders; sexualities; races; sizes; neurotypes; religions; cultures; and relationship structures; and work with people from many marginalized groups.
My office location offers accessible, free, onsite parking, all-gender bathrooms, and a comfortable, sensory-friendly space to support healing. I also offer online therapy to individuals throughout Illinois and in over 35 states across the US through PSYPACT.
