I’m Dr. Daniel Roa (he/him), Medical Director and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. As a gay man, husband, and father of two, I know how powerful it is to receive care that’s truly affirming, especially for LGBTQ+ individuals and families who’ve faced discrimination or felt unseen in healthcare spaces.
With over 20 years of experience, I’m trained as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and an Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. My mission is to create a collaborative, non-judgmental space where people of all identities, backgrounds, and ages feel respected and supported. My clinical work covers psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, supplement recommendations, and nutritional counseling. I approach care holistically, offering services that include primary care, addiction treatment, weight management, hormone therapy (including gender-affirming care), and aesthetic medicine.
I’ve prioritized continuing education in LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and gender-affirming practices. I’m an active member of WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health), and I’m dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest standards of care for transgender and gender-diverse patients.
I currently see patients via video visit in Oregon and Washington. Whether you’re seeking support with coming out, gender transition, family relationships, or mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, or trauma, my goal is to provide a safe, empowering, and understanding environment. I’m here to help LGBTQ+ individuals and their loved ones feel welcomed and affirmed at every step.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and our two children, and I’m committed to advocating for equity and inclusion in and out of the clinic.
