Hello! My name is Danielle and I am a bisexual cisgender woman who understands the enormous therapeutic benefits of working with a provider who has a deep understanding and connection to the LGBTQIA+ community. I aim to always be cognizant of my clients’ various identities, and the intersectionality of such identities, especially those which have been historically and continually marginalized including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and many other rich communities. I exclusively provide individual therapy and do not work with couples or families as this is not my area of expertise, although I will absolutely bring partners / family members into occasional sessions with the client as warranted / desired. I work with adults and adolescents, typically starting around 12-13 years old, and have experience working with both adults and teenagers on inpatient psychiatric hospital units managing acute mental health crises. In these hospitals, I advocated for LGBTQIA+ patients and employees as an active member of the ‘Pride’ employee resource group including assistance with completion of the Healthcare Equality Index survey and assessment in 2021 / 2022. My goal is to authentically support clients in their journeys, whatever they may be, and to address challenges, both unique and systemic, while building on their strengths. I especially enjoy providing introductory education to loved ones or members of the general public seeking to learn more about the LGBTQIA+ community, including translating today’s “hip lingo” for the older generations as necessary.
