I am a family practice nurse practitioner who works in primary care. I also provide high quality LGBTQ+ healthcare in an accepting, safe, friendly practice. I have completed several CME courses and am a GLMA member. I provide gender affirming care and HRT to a growing number of patients and have personal connections to providers in the St Louis area if surgical services are desired.
I had an amazing experience with Emily. She is the kind of practitioner that helps someone feel heard and understood. She is willing to give supportive care for any gender needs. As someone who identifies in the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, it’s so important to have affirming healthcare. I would recommend Emily to any of my queer friends. She is also just a very knowledgeable and kind human and anyone would be lucky to have her as your practitioner.
During the first office visit I was told that I would not have to justify myself for being transgender, however, within minutes, I was being asked to justify my gender identity.
A follow up appointment was made to get blood work done. This was canceled at the last minute, but I was told I could get the blood work done by going to a hospital on my own and getting the blood work done. I did this , and another appointment was made to go over the results and to go over next steps. This was canceled at the last minute.
I made another appointment. Again, this was canceled at the last minute. I finally decided to go to another doctor that was taking my treatment a little bit more seriously, as this doctor didn’t seem to be taking me even remotely seriously.
This is an extremely serious matter to me that I have been suffering from for literally decades. To be totally dismissed and denied even being able to start treatment due to numerous canceled appointments is unconsciable. We deserve much better care than this.
