While I do identify as a cisgender, heterosexual female; I believe that I create a welcoming space to the LGBTQIA+ population as my history of working with children and teens has led me to become a psychologist that does not assume much while working with clients. I am open, understanding, compassionate, and believe that individuals should have control over their lives and bodies. I approach therapy from a client-centered, humanistic, ACT oriented lens and believe that systemic oppression is one of the main challenges so many of my clients are dealing with. I actively work to help my clients deconstruct their internal narratives and internalized “isms” to help them stop shaming and blaming themselves for the problems they are experiencing, but to look instead at our world and gain awareness that they are not alone and that their experiences are important. I have sought out additional continuing education and trainings on working with LGBTQIA+ clients and also have a history of advocating for care when needed by my clients.
