Hi, I’m Dr. Evelyn, LMHC, a Florida licensed mental health counselor and the founder/owner of Dr. Ev’s Oasis. I offer virtual therapy for adults throughout Florida. My specialties are death anxiety, grief and loss, and spiritual and existential shifts. I often work with deep thinkers and sensitive souls who want space to process pain, ask difficult questions, and find their own way forward.

I identify as asexual and aromantic, as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), and as an empath. These are parts of my perspective, though I never assume that my experience is the same as a client’s. I’ve worked with many LGBTQ+ clients and have pursued LGBTQ+ affirming education and training throughout my career.

In therapy, you can talk about your identity, relationships, family, grief, or beliefs without pressure to fit someone else’s idea of what your life should look like. You do not have to educate me on the basics of LGBTQ+ identities, and you do not have to make your identity the focus of therapy unless it matters to you. We can explore the concerns that brought you here, in the context of your whole life.

My style is conversational, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your autonomy. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), existential and humanistic psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, and transpersonal approaches. I hold a master’s degree in mental health counseling and a PhD in metaphysical counseling, and I have more than 10 years of clinical experience.

Spiritual or existential questions are welcome in our work if you want to explore them. You may be spiritual, religious, questioning, or neither. I will not ask you to adopt my beliefs or treat any particular worldview as a requirement for healing.
