Heather Eslien (she/her) is an LMHC with a private practice in downtown Sarasota, FL. She is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and has worked for almost 15 years as an advocate and therapist for queer folx. While she very much enjoys her work with the entire community, she is especially passionate about her specialization with trans and gender-expansive folx (both youth and adults) as well as their family members and loved ones. She can provide letters of support for HRT, gender affirmation surgeries, etc. She brings a strong background in social justice anti-oppression work to her therapeutic approach. In doing so she is sensitive to how power and privilege, societal roles and identities, cultural differences and constraints play a role in the manifestations of internalized oppression. She enjoys educating individuals as well as organizations around the many barriers and injustices the trans population faces as well as to break down the myths and incorrect assumptions surrounding this beautiful and dynamic community. Heather believes trans and gender-expansive people are a key to our societal liberation and should be celebrated as such.

*She has facilitated 2 support groups for the trans community and their loved ones over the past decade but had to stop during the pandemic but is hoping to restart them soon.
