At Bodhi Counseling & Consulting we promote the values of diversity, equality, inclusion, and justice. Our therapists are LGBTQ+ affirming and always strive to maintain and grow our cultural competence.
Whatever season of life you find yourself in, I am here to walk with you by providing a nonjudgmental, collaborative, and empathic space. I understand this may be your first time seeking mental health therapy or you may have had difficulty with therapy in the past, however, I am glad you are taking this next step in breaking generational cycles, identifying overwhelming symptoms/emotions, or working through difficult life events.
I have experience working with individuals with symptoms of anxiety and depression, first generation college students, children of immigrants, and the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I am open to working with individuals working through difficult life transitions, those impacted by trauma, and Spanish-speaking individuals. I believe it is important to work collaboratively to explore and find a therapeutic approach that fits best with each individual. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), strengths-based and client-centered treatment models. In addition, I strive to incorporate trauma-informed practices, culturally-sensitive psychotherapy, and culturally-responsive CBT in my practice. I am also an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist in training and receive supervision by EMDR International Association consultants.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have experience working in a variety of levels of mental health care including inpatient behavioral health, adult residential recovery, and counseling with college students.
