I have been a champion for the underdog since I was a child, always standing up for what is right and fighting for equality. In both my personal and professional life, I continue to be an active advocate for social equality, LGBTQIA rights, and mental health awareness, providing education and reducing stigma for people who are often marginalized by society. I have worked with many clients who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, including trans and non-binary persons. I recognize and honor the degree to which your gender and sexual identity influences your daily life. For example, for some of my clients, their gender or sexual identity is on the same level as someone saying “my hair is brown” and it doesn’t have a significant daily impact on their lives, while for others, they are acutely aware of their gender and sexual identity at all times. This type of respect extends to other aspects of your life and identities; it is important for our work together that I meet you where you’re at and work from that vantage point. I do not believe in any kind of standardized or “one-size-fits-all” approach to my work as a therapist. I am a member of the NJ Pride Chamber of Commerce, New Jersey Counseling Association, American Counseling Association and Human Rights Campaign.
