I was referred to Julia in 2019 for chronic pelvic pain I had been experiencing since I was a child. I had worked with another physical therapist previously, but working with Julia took my recovery to the next level! Julia is an incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate physical therapist committed to providing the highest quality care. She has extensive experience treating patients of all genders with pelvic pain, and is especially skilled at addressing the unique needs of LGBTQ+ patients. Julia listened to me attentively, designed a treatment plan, and patiently guided me through weeks of physical therapy.
Despite the fact that pelvic pain often has a disproportionate impact on patients sex lives, this topic is often neglected in PT further increasing patients’ feelings of distress and isolation. Julia provided an inclusive and affirming environment for me to bring up my concerns around sex and pelvic pain as a queer individual. She approached this topic with sensitivity, care, and candor. Her gentle yet firm approach allowed me to finally work through my fear of using dilators which proved a huge step in my recovery.
Julia helped me reclaim my life and sexuality from chronic pain. It has been a year since physical therapy, and I’m happy to report I no longer suffer debilitating muscle spasms, and am able to have a healthy sex life, something I thought would be impossible for me. It’s not an understatement to say my PT experience with Julia changed my life, and I can’t recommend her enough!
