Many of my clients live with chronic pain, trauma, and stress. The want to strengthen relationships and develop new ones. I work with adolescents, emerging adults, and young adults with chronic stress, trauma, and creative struggles.
As an art therapist, I see my role as one point in a three-way conversation with the client, artwork, and themselves.
I see art therapy as a way to support clients when verbal processing is difficult or impossible. Clients describe me as compassionate, encouraging, attentive, and patient. I live with chronic low vision and chronic pain, so clients enjoy the shared and often bittersweet experience. I understand the challenges of living with chronic illness.
I work extensively with the LGBTQ+ community, and transgencer clients. I am trained to write gender-affirming surgery letters according to WPATH guidelines.
