I am a Family Medicine trained Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. I identify with pronouns she/her and am happily married to my first wife (TG F AMAB) since 2021 and my second wife (TGF AMAB) since 2024. We are also in a loving polyamorous relationship with 1 other partner (cisF). My passions are to provide safe and reliable gender affirming care and to be an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community in healthcare. I am also passionate about Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and using physical diagnosis and treatment as an adjunct to treat musculoskeletal disorders.
Dr. Waldeck was my primary care doctor when she was still in medical school. In spite of not even being done with school yet, she was, without question, the best doc I have ever had. If I could, I would move to MI, so she could still be my doctor. I am not just queer; i am multiply neuroqueer, disabled, fat, and old. Dr. Waldeck is not only very knowledgeable and professional from a technical standpoint, she is also the only doctor I have ever had who I felt truly acknowledged and respected all my marginalized identities and went to the trouble of making sure I was as comfortable as possible. Example: usually, when I tell a doctor I’m Autistic, they either barely acknowledge what I’ve told them (sort of deer-in-headlights is the most positive response i can reasonably expect) or don’t believe me. Dr. Waldeck not only responded supportively when I told her, she made sure that for all my appointments after that to assign me to an exam room with dimmable lights because I have extreme sensitivity to bright fluorescent lights. I miss her terribly, and the two primary care docs I have had since are ok, I guess, as doctors go, but I have not felt like I’m getting very good medical care since Dr. Waldeck graduated and left.
