Katie Lugar, DHSc, LSW, CNP is a three-time alum of Indiana State University (BSW ’15, MSW ’16, DHSc ’22), a licensed social worker, Doctor of Health Sciences, and certified nonprofit professional. She is a founding board member and Board President for the Pride Center of Terre Haute, a nonprofit LGBTQ+ community center in Terre Haute, Indiana. As President of the Pride Center, she oversees a variety of service areas including resource referrals, group support, access to health and wellness supplies, programming, educational trainings, policy advocacy and change, Terre Haute Pride Fest, and more. She earned certification from the Yale Mental Health Initiative for LGBTQ+ Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the National LGBTQ+ Curriculum and additional trainings through OutCare Health, and regularly engages in LGBTQ+ affirming training opportunities for her own professional development. Dr. Lugar has used this training to offer further training to Indiana healthcare providers to expand their own LGBTQ+ affirming care practices. Individuals and families in Indiana are welcome to contact Dr. Lugar for assistance with a variety of needs relating to the LGBTQ+ community and referrals to affirming resources.
