Kristen is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who provides mental health care for individuals, adolescents, couples and families. She is particularly passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ and disability communities while acknowledging the ways in which such identities intersect.
Intensively trained in Structural and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Kristen supports individuals coping with difficulties like anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria and various forms of associated trauma.
Kristen is also experienced in helping couples navigate relational concerns involving boundaries, emotional, physical and sexual intimacy and the communication of needs, desires and expectations.
As a systemic therapist, Kristen’s goal is to provide an inclusive and affirming environment where individuals can be heard, validated and empathized with as they identify and express emotions, process trauma, and navigate relationships within their life.
Kristen practices using WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) Standards of Care to provide the following sources of support; assisting clients in gaining information on/ or access to medical and social transition-related resources such as letters of recommendation for Surgery, Hormone therapies, or collaboration of care with a medical team related to gender-affirming surgery and therapies.
Such training allows Kristen to take an understanding, knowledgeable, and accepting approach when positively engaging with TGNBNC (Transgender and Non-Binary/Non-Conforming) clients of all ages and identities (abilities, cultures, races, religions, socioeconomic backgrounds and ethnicities).
Kristen strongly believes that people have the resources within them to get to where they strive to be and is happy to provide necessary guidance and support along the way.
