I am a biracial, cisgender woman, who does not have a specific label for my sexual orientation. I grew up in a small rural town and have lived experience knowing what it is like to not fit in to the dominant group. I also have lived experience knowing what it is like to be in fear for my safety if particular people discovered aspects of my identity.
Professionally, I have experience treating those in the LGBTQ+ community who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma symptoms. I also provide couples therapy for LGBTQ+ couples. It is important to me that my clients feel safe, valued, and validated. I recognize that I may share similar experiences with my clients, and that our experiences can also be vastly different. My goal is to listen to gain a full understanding and recognition of what my clients are going through, particularly regarding environmental factors such as family and the sociopolitical sphere, that may be impacting feelings of safety.
