LGBTQ+ Qualifications
Margot consults with a number of mental health and medical institutions on LGBTQ issues and health care accessibility to help them better meet the needs of their LGBTQ clients. Margot’s thesis research focused on transgender identity development. She has since facilitated the first ever transgender therapy group at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center and has a sub-specialty in her psychotherapy practice working with people around gender identity issues. As a psychotherapist working with transgender people, Margot does not see herself as a “gatekeeper” to the process of transitioning, but rather a guide on this journey of discovery, self-acceptance, and transformation.
