Worked in private practice with LGBTQ adolescents and prior to that in community mental health clinics. Clinical writing on gender and sexuality published in Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association and Journal of Lesbian and Gay Mental Health. Writes the Psychology Today column, “Quite Queerly,” and popular articles for The Huffington Post, Truthdig, Out Magazine, on LGBTQ mental health issues. Author of the book,”Modern Brides & Modern Grooms: A Guide to Planning Straight, Gay, and Other Nontraditional 21st Century Weddings” (Skyhorse). Psychotherapy training includes Institute for Human Identity, NYC’s first LGBTQ affirmative mental health clinic since 1973 (founded by Charles Silverstein). Mentored by psychoanalyst/ psychologist Ken Corbett author of “Murder Over a Girl” and “Boyhoods.”
