Hello, future client. I have been working as an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community as long as I can remember, in every role I have been in, from student to educator to the present as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I believe it’s important for our community to know where there are safe spaces in every capacity I have worked in, and being someone who has been out for 21+ years, I have seen the ever-changing environment and the effects it has on our community both personally and professionally.
I currently co-own my pratice, Modern Atlas Therapy, with my husband. In my journey as a counselor, I always prioritized my education and advocacy around LGBTQ+ needs while getting my Master’s Degree in a Jesuit school educating those around me. I was also fortunate to spend some of my internship time working in an LGBTQ+ community center in Boulder, CO, honing my craft in a way that focused on the mental health needs of my community related to gender identity, sexuality, and non-traditional relationships.
Regardless of your connection within the community, I look forward to working with you to support you using a variety of techniques such as Affirmative Therapy, CBT, and Existential Therapy to develop and reinforce your authentic self that can withstand any internalized or externalized factors contributing to any misalignment you may be experiencing. I look forward to hearing from you to provide you with the support you need.
