(please don’t judge based on my website, I’m working on this actively, VERY new to private practice. Everything is getting updated This Week.)
My name is Mits Walts, I am a mixed japanese american queer TBI survivor and transmasculine Certified Massage Therapist.
When I began my process of becoming certified for massage therapy, I was the only transgender person I knew who was a massage provider. In the five years since becoming certified, I have met one other transmasculine CMT and a friend of mine who is a trans woman is currently in school.
This is all to say I understand wanting pain relief options that don’t expose one to misgendering or discomfort from a service provider who should be there to help. I stayed away from seeking medical care for such a long time because of general discomfort interacting with medicaly appointments.
I was also dealing with TBI acutely during that time, and have since managed to heal a lot. I get to provide the kind of pain relief I wish I had had back then.
I will update this more as I grow my practice and make a few more business decisions since private practice is very new to me, but I strive to make a legitimately cozy and TRUSTWORTHY space for my massage clients, and to improve client’s lives in meaningful ways.
