I identify as a non-binary lesbian, and my experiences in holding these identities have impacted how I see the world and others within the community. I feel a strong connection to the LGBTQ+ community as both a member and an ally. As I have surrounded myself with other queer and trans folks, I have come to understand how these identities impact experiences and can lead to mental health challenges and struggles. I also understand how meaningful it is to have an affirming counselor who has an understanding of the queer experience and the nuances that come with it. I counsel from primarily a person-centered perspective with a focus on providing a culturally competent and well-rounded counseling experience that takes from different perspectives and approaches and tailors counseling to each individual client. I am a member of the National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network and am certified in Mental Health first aid.
