I have 12 years in the mental health field, providing outpatient therapy and diagnostic assessments to adolescents, adults, and couples. I incorporate elements of humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness practices into my approach and have experience working with people struggling with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Trauma Disorders, and Relationship Conflicts.
Ideally, clients begin with an idea of their goals and what they would like to pursue through therapy, just needing the extra insight and encouragement to clarify those goals or to take the first steps towards accomplishing them. They may be struggling with mood issues, have trouble controlling their thoughts, or be dealing with difficult or contentious relationships. They need someone to listen to them, to provide empathy and validation, and then to help guide them along the path they have chosen to make the changes they wish to see in their life.
I have experience working with clients of all ages along the LGBTQ+ spectrum, and have worked diligently to stay up-to-date through continuing education to make supporting these populations a priority in my practice. Those in this community are constantly at risk due to changing laws and the whims of those that do not understand them being in positions of power, and I see it as my duty as a provider in the mental health field to do what I can to support them.
My hope is to assist others in adapting to new challenges while learning how to live in an ever-changing world with ever-changing expectations. Everyone has their own mountain to climb, and we all need some help in order to begin or continue that climb. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
