I have been in practice in Chicago since 1984. My patients are primarily gay men, although the practice is open to all members of the LGBTQ community. We are among the local leaders caring for people with HIV/AIDS. In fact, my business partner, Dr Thomas R Klein, and I were both elected to the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame for our services to the LGBTQ community. In the late 1980s, we were co-medical directors of Howard Brown Memorial Center (now Howard Brown Health Center) and were volunteers there during the height of the AIDS crisis. I am the author of the upcoming memoir, “Plague Years: A Doctor’s Journey through the AIDS Crisis” (University of Chicago Press, 2020). We have a warm, welcoming staff that is equally committed to providing high quality medical care to our community.
