I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#2966) and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (1051) in Louisiana. I knew that I wanted to be a therapist by the time I was 20. I was going through the process myself, and through the experience, I came out and embraced who I was. During my time as a graduate student, I volunteered 10 hours per week on the Gay Counseling Line. In 2006 I received both of my professional licenses, and since then, I have specialized in couples counseling and working with gay men on problems and challenges unique to their particular experience.
Scottie and I have been working together on a number of issues over the years. He is always helpful and supportive, challenging me when I need it. I find him very caring and effective in addressing the issues I identify. My mental health has improved immensely. I am grateful he’s doing this work.
