I am a queer and genderqueer/genderfluid primary care physician assistant (she/they) who has dedicated my practice to caring for LGBTQIA2S+ communities. After witnessing the poor—and at times abusive—treatment of our communities, particularly trans and gender-diverse individuals, within the healthcare system, I knew I wanted to help create a better option. I left a career in IT and enrolled in physician assistant school to learn the practice of medicine and how best to contribute.
During PA school, I discovered a deep passion for gender-affirming care through a clinical rotation in transgender health with Project HEALTH at Lyon-Martin Health Services in San Francisco, under the mentorship of Dr. Nick Gorton. In 2016, I launched a gender-affirming care program from the ground up at Ingham Community Health Centers in Lansing, Michigan. At the time, I was the only provider in the region offering hormone therapy using an informed consent model. I was honored to care for over 250 patients of all ages, many of whom traveled from across the state to access affirming care.
I also developed a strong passion for sexual and reproductive health, providing care within a trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and sex-positive framework. I became experienced in contraception, pregnancy care, and HIV/STI prevention and treatment—including PrEP, post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP), and doxyPEP. I am especially committed to supporting all sexual and gender minorities, including members of the leather/kink/BDSM communities, sex workers, and individuals practicing consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, and other diverse relationship structures.
I am a proud member of GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality; the LGBT PA Caucus; TPATH; the PACT Coalition; and WPATH. I have received specialized training through the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference, WPATH, USPATH, GLMA, and many other focused educational opportunities.
My clinical interests also include Health at Every Size (HAES) and care for larger-bodied individuals; support for neurodivergent or “neurospicy” patients; and care for those with connective tissue and hypermobility syndromes (including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome), dysautonomia/POTS, autoimmune diseases, chronic mental health conditions, and disabilities. I strive to partner with my patients to uplift their goals, and approach care as a collaborative, ongoing dialogue.
With increasing attacks on trans and gender-diverse communities, my mission is rooted more deeply in social justice every day. I remain unwavering in my commitment to fighting fiercely for our rights, safety, and dignity—always.
