Too many individuals living in the Midwest and “Bible Belt” of America were coming to see me with depression and suicidal thoughts and ideation…when I got to know them and they built their trust in me many of these individuals came out to me and we discovered this was the source for their emotional turmoil. I decided that things needed to change and everyone needed to know I was an ally for this population. I love working with this population and helping their family members adjust to the changes that affect them all.
