Dr. Kilwein obtained her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Wyoming in 2019. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in the states of Wyoming, Colorado, and North Dakota and credentialed as a National Register Health Service Psychologist. Dr. Kilwein has been working with transgender and non-binary patients since 2018, when she practiced alongside primary care physicians and surgeons at Denver Health’s LGBTQ+ Center of Excellence to provide behavioral health services, hormone replacement therapy, and referrals to surgical procedures for transgender and non-binary patients. Her current practice maintains a caseload of nearly 50% transgender/non-binary patients. Dr. Kilwein is well-versed in The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care, is a member in good standing of WPATH, has completed the WPATH Global Education Initiative Foundations and Advanced Mental Health Courses, participates in the Transgender Health: Comprehensive Approaches in Primary Care Extension for Community Health Outcomes Colorado series, and has taken the Gender Affirming Letter Access Project informed consent provider pledge. Finally, Dr. Kilwein offers training and consultation to mental health and allied professionals on gender-affirming care and behavioral health evaluations/support letters.
