You’ve always known there’s nothing “wrong” with you—what’s wrong is living in a world that hasn’t always made space for you. In this space, you don’t have to fight to belong. You already do.
I’m Therin (they/them). I’m a white, genderqueer, neurodivergent, and disabled psychologist offering affirming online therapy across Illinois. I love working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks—especially trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people—as well as neurodivergent individuals, ethically non-monogamous partners, college students, and artists navigating identity, life transitions, anxiety, and trauma.
If you’ve been feeling worn out from masking, code-switching, or making yourself smaller just to fit in, you’re not alone. Maybe past trauma, rejection, or the constant pressure to conform has left you feeling disconnected from yourself. Here, you get to bring your whole self—no explaining, no defending, no shrinking.
My clients are brave, creative, and complex humans who are ready for something different: a life that feels authentic, aligned, and worth waking up for. In our work together, we’ll make space to ease anxiety, heal from wounds left by discrimination and past hurt, and build confidence in who you are.
My approach is affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in the belief that your lived experience matters. I’ll walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and a little humor—so therapy feels less like a performance and more like a deep breath. You’ve already done the hard work of surviving. Now, let’s make space for you to thrive.
