My name is Dr. Tony Voong (he/him/his), I’m a first-generation Chinese American. Born and raised as a Texas native, I graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin and traveled to the midwest to earn my doctorate from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. I then completed a post-doctoral residency with NYU Langone Health, specializing in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD).
I have served in dental mission trips providing dental care to families in Guatemala and community outreach programs of underserved neighborhoods in Minneapolis and New York City. Through these experiences, I have seen a lot of misconceptions and fears about oral care. Making New York City home, my hope and mission in dentistry is to provide education and comfort for each person to succeed in their own oral health and wellness.
I pursued this field because I believe dentistry should be individualized and tailored to each person’s own unique and specific needs. I aim to provide comfort, ethics, and a conservative treatment philosophy that places the patient’s interests first and foremost. These traits reflect themselves in high quality and aesthetics in my work.
I strive to deliver comprehensive care and understand that dental treatment can be intimidating and stressful. I enjoy taking my time to thoroughly explain all options to each patient so that they may feel comfortable and confident in their own care. Because at the end of the day you take your own teeth home. I can only hope to provide my patients with the education and tools needed to succeed in their own dental health.
Having a confident smile is a powerful thing. It affects how you show up in your personal and professional relationships every single day. Promoting a relaxing environment through open dialogue with each patient I believe is the key to an anxiety-free dental experience.
