I am a board-certified family medicine physician trained in full-spectrum primary care with emphasis in LGBTQ+ and HIV care, travel medicine and in-office procedures. I grew up in a farming town in rural Kentucky, then moved to Florida for medical school and eventually residency in St. Petersburg where I now live and practice. My small town upbringing without a large specialist presence helped me realize the importance of full spectrum family practice and taking care of my patient’s needs thoroughly and empathetically, regardless of their backgrounds or diverse needs. Being a part of the LGBTQ+ community also allows me to relate to my patients without judgement, which is arguably the most important part of providing thorough and thoughtful treatment. My practice is Direct Primary Care, meaning we do not take insurance but rather use a monthly-membership based model; this allows me to treat YOU, rather than have my hands tied by the increasingly frustrating limitations placed by insurance companies. I am also trained to care for HIV+ patients and other infectious diseases that affect our community, as well as providing PreP and doxyPEP for prevention. I treat transgender patients and help initiate and continue necessary medications to help with their transition.
