Amanda Zolman (she/her) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who provides supportive, affirming, and professional therapy services with the goal of assisting individuals and families in improving their mental health, enhancing their life experiences, and empowering them to be a part of their own growth. She has over 10 years of experience working with a diverse range of individuals in terms of socioeconomic status, age, ethnicity, gender, and presenting concerns. She is a graduate of Butler University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology prior to obtaining her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. Before starting Thrive Counseling Services, Amanda served as an outpatient therapist and clinical supervisor at a group private practice, worked with college students who sought treatment at a local university counseling center, and provided group therapy for adults participating in an outpatient chemical dependency program within a hospital setting.
Amanda offers individual therapy and family therapy for adults and adolescents (ages 16+). Her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, sexual and gender identity, eating and body image issues, fertility and family planning issues, and working with the LGBTQ+ community. She uses an integrative approach to treatment that is influenced by a variety of therapeutic principles and perspectives including Cognitive-Behavioral, Client-Centered, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, and Interpersonal theories. She employs elements from a range of therapeutic techniques with the goal of creating a treatment program that meets the specific needs of each individual.
