I know firsthand that sexual orientation is not a choice. I also know firsthand how a person’s belief system can contribute to misinformation about the LGBTQIA community. Providing a safe environment for people who are hesitant to look for care is important to me. I frequently treat PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, OCD, High functioning Autism and ADHD. I prescribe medications to help with symptoms and therapy to help break less helpful patterns we all develop. I’m trained in EMDR, CBT, ACT and have been known to do impromptu guided meditations using Non-ordinary Reality. My style is casual and it’s perfectly OK with me if you need to use curse words to help describe past experiences. I am at ease talking about most things and if a topic comes up that I am not at ease with, I’ll ask you questions to better understand the situation and where you’re coming from. We can all learn new things. It is your body, your mind, your spirit, your life, your choice. If you’re ready, give me a call. We’ll make that first appointment together.
Please be between the ages of 20-60.

I’ve seen Dr. C for 6+ years through pivotal periods in my life. I wish I could think of a way to sum up the difference she made, but that would be such a long review and I don’t want to put anyone to sleep.
The most important thing I feel like I can share about her is less about what she does and more about who she is. She has worked with me tirelessly through support letters, edits, more edits, paperwork, more paperwork and you get the picture. But her worldview, her life experience and her ability to genuinely meet people where they’re at is what makes her unmatched.
Why is she a good fit for the queer community?
She’s unconventional and creative in her approach to therapy and takes her time building trust and creating a safe environment. I feel like that is something most of us really need. Someone who will let us move at our own pace, however slow that may be.
Over the years, she has become one of the most important people in my life.
Dr Carpenter is great!! Very easy to talk to her and has great ideas for relaxation, sleep or anything I need!
