As a Black queer and gender-queer therapist, I am committed to employing anti-racist and decolonial strategies during therapy. I have experience working with adolescents, adults and couples from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ identities, marginalized racial and ethnic identities, those with disabilities, asylum seekers and refugees, and people in polyamorous/expansive relationships. My commitment as a therapist is to create a warm, inclusive and welcoming environment for all of my clients and especially those who are BIPOC, queer and trans. As a Maryland native with deep familial roots in Baltimore City, my practice and past is grounded in Baltimore. I have experience working as a teacher and facilitator with youth and adults in Baltimore. I have also had experience helping with mutual aid networks and queer/trans community organizing. Baltimore is my home and I have so much love for the city and the people who live here. I provide trauma informed care that continuously integrates the client’s past experiences and creates room for positive change to occur. Through my masters program at Johns Hopkins University, I received training in cognitive behavioral therapy and other skills based approaches that I draw on in addition to my person centered feminist approach. I am also always adding to my educational experiences and am learning more about dialectical behavioral therapy, somatic based coping skills, as well as expressive art approaches.
