Chris Chamberlin (he/they), LMHC, NCC, BA, MA, EdM, is a board-certified, NY State licensed psychotherapist based in New York City and the Hudson Valley.
I identify as queer and it was my own life journey and struggles that led me to become a psychotherapist. I believe that inside each of us is an internal healer that we can reconnect with to better experience our true self and work to heal our wounds and traumas. Queer folx often feel separate from others and life in a world that sometimes causes us to feel disconnected from ourselves. The best therapist is one who helps their clients connect with their core-self and focus on the potential, knowledge, and capacity for healing that is already inside of each of us. Using an integrative, client-centered approach, I help clients come to terms with their past, and create a future of their own design.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (New York – License 013465) with 25+ years of developmental work in settings ranging from private practice, colleges and universities, crisis work, and community agencies. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, and various client-centered, trauma-informed approaches.
I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of New Jersey and an EdM in Educational Organization and Leadership, from Columbia University.
I will work with you collaboratively to understand your experiences and will meet you where you are. Connecting with your own innate inner-healer, we will take time to get to know you and all your parts to help to you on your journey of growth, understanding, and healing.
