Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working in a number of environments including outpatient individual therapy, group therapy and case management, among others. I earned a Master’s in Social Work degree with a certificate in evidence-based mental health practice from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have always prioritized working with folx from disenfranchised communities and I firmly believe that mental health care is inherently a social justice issue.
Throughout my years of experience, I have especially enjoyed my work providing support to members of the LGBTQ community. I have provided therapy to many individuals exploring their sexuality and/or gender identity, as well as counseled individuals as they navigate the transition process. I am familiar with the hoops that folx have to jump through in order to receive this life-giving care, and I have experience writing letters of support and assisting clients as they navigate this potentially challenging time.
The therapeutic lens I utilize in my work affirms that my clients are always the experts on their own lives, and I strive to be humble as I work alongside and provide support to folx who so graciously allow me into their lives and hearts. I’m passionate about maintaining an anti-oppressive lens in my therapy practice and am always open to feedback and suggestions for how I can better serve and support my clients. I recognize that the diversity of human experience calls for an equally varied and individualized treatment approach, and I am dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive space that centers the intersecting identities of folx, and that prioritizes the autonomy and empowerment of my clients above all else.
