Hi! I’m Dr. Daniela Diego, a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist at Boca Fertility in South Florida. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples build their families through compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based reproductive care. I believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality fertility care, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship status, or family structure.
I completed my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, followed by fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Emory University. My clinical practice focuses on infertility evaluation and treatment, in vitro fertilization (IVF), fertility preservation, and assisted reproductive technologies, with a particular interest in LGBTQ+ family building and third-party reproduction.
A central part of my approach is recognizing that there are many different paths to parenthood. For LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, fertility care is often not about treating infertility but rather about providing the medical resources, guidance, and support needed to build a family. I work with patients pursuing donor sperm insemination, IVF, reciprocal IVF, donor egg treatment, and other assisted reproductive options. At Boca Fertility, we offer reciprocal IVF, which allows partners to share in the reproductive process by having one partner provide the eggs while the other carries the pregnancy.
My commitment to inclusive family building also extends to my academic research. I have conducted research examining national trends in donor sperm utilization and reproductive outcomes following IVF using donor versus partner sperm. Using data from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), my research evaluated fertility treatment patterns and outcomes across the United States, including clinical pregnancy and live birth rates. This work contributes to our understanding of donor sperm IVF and provides evidence to support counseling and shared decision-making for individuals and couples pursuing donor-assisted reproduction.
I have also been involved in research examining reciprocal IVF, an increasingly important family-building option for same-sex female couples and other couples in which both partners wish to participate biologically or physically in the reproductive process. My research interests reflect my broader commitment to understanding the reproductive needs of diverse families, improving patient counseling, and advancing equitable access to fertility treatment.
I recognize that LGBTQ+ patients may face unique challenges when navigating reproductive healthcare, including discriminatory experiences, financial and insurance barriers, and healthcare systems that have historically centered heterosexual couples. I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their identities, relationships, reproductive goals, and concerns without fear of assumptions or stigma.
My philosophy of care emphasizes individualized treatment, transparent communication, and shared decision-making. I believe patients should feel empowered with the information they need to make decisions that align with their personal values and family-building goals. Whether you are exploring your options for the first time, considering fertility preservation, or ready to begin treatment, my goal is to help you feel informed, respected, and supported throughout your journey.
I am proud to provide LGBTQ+ affirming reproductive care at Boca Fertility and look forward to helping individuals and families throughout South Florida pursue their unique paths to parenthood.
