Positive Psychology Inc. is a team of compassionate social justice-oriented QTBIPOC psychologists, committed to helping you find happiness and fulfillment in your life. Our focus is on enhancing your overall well-being, not just eliminating negativity. We maintain that certain “disorders” only indicate diversity and not something to be “fixed”, and help you live authentically. We can help you tap into your ancestral or cultural knowledge to find solutions and resources.
We take insurance to make treatment accessible because we believe everyone is entitled to emotional well-being. At Positive Psychology Inc., we are committed to inclusivity, creating a safe space for all.
We specialize in trauma-informed and strength-based therapy for issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and loss/grief. We also provide neurodiversity-affirming assessments for Autism and ADHD. Our team comprises psychologists with marginalized identities, and we welcome racial, ethnic, gender, sexual, spiritual, neuro, and body diversity.
We offer individual, couples, and family therapy. Our cuturally-sensitive evaluation/assessment includes ADHD and Autisms. We are guests of Kumeyaay land, which is now called San Diego, California. We provide therapy and assessment in person at this location (central San Diego, near Kearny Mesa, Clairemont, Mission Valley, Hillcrest). We are providing treatment and psychological evaluations via telehealth to anyone in California.
We are honored to work with gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, transgender, nonbinary, intersex, asexual, aromantic, queer, polyamorous, ethical-non- monogamous, BDSM, kink, clients of various backgrounds. All of us work with neuro queer, neurodivergent (such as ADHD, Autism) and some of us are members of the community.
We write gender affirming letters for gender marker and name change, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and surgeries pro bono, in one session. This service is currently available for Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Filipino (Tagalog), Waray-Waray, Bisaya, and English speakers. We wish this requirement doesn’t exist, and we will make the process as painless and simple as possible.
Currently, the psychologists who are accepting new clients offer counseling in Tagalog, Bisaya, Waray-Waray, Mandarin Chinese, and English.
As QTBIPOC psychologists with often more intersecting identities, we have experienced and know the difficulty in finding a therapist. You no longer choose expertise vs. lived experience! We are here to serve LGBTQIA+ clients who wants to address trauma, PTSD, depression, bipolar, anxiety, panic attacks / panic disorder, loss/ grief, death/dying, and more.
