As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I know how important it is for people to have access to consciously-provided, quality mental health care. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I enjoy working with clients on a variety of issues such as health anxiety and/or depression, changes in body size and/or ability, gender and sexuality issues and/or exploration, life and work transitions, family challenges, and even just general depression and/or anxiety. The LGBTQ+ lens often shifts or shades our experiences in the world around us, and sometimes it is key to work with someone who not only understands that but has experienced it as well. From a technique point of view, I take an customized-to-the-client, eclectic approach, but I often use strategies such as Adlerian psychology, somatics, Internal Family Systems parts work, polyvagal theory, and mindfulness. My practice is trauma-informed and client-centered and led, meaning you create direction for our work together. I like to meet people where they are, so our sessions might be serious or lighthearted, and I believe either can get you where you want to be. I am also a long-time yoga practitioner and teacher, and I often draw from yoga philosophy and mindfulness techniques to help people connect with themselves and their true feelings. I have been and E-RYT (10,000 hours+) yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance for well over a decade, and I am a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. I very much look forward to meeting you and working with you to find ease and satisfaction in your life.
