I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and art therapist who loves using art making and the creative process to explore complex feelings and beliefs within the therapeutic space. I received my Masters degree in Art Therapy & Counseling from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2020 and have experience working with both LGBTQ children and adults. I as a queer therapist I am extremely passionate about providing safe, affirming care for all of my LGBTQ+ clients.
As an art therapist, I utilize art and art making to facilitate therapeutic discussions and insights with my clients. I utilize a wide variety of art mediums to explore, create, and investigate within therapy. This practice appeals to a wide variety of populations and experience levels and there is no prior experience with art is required! I firmly believe in the healing power of art making and sharing that power with others.
My practice as a therapist is founded on social justice and feminist frameworks, as well as relational-cultural theory. This means that I conceive of therapy as a collaborative partnership between therapist and client, one that that relies on respect for each other’s knowledge and perspectives. I hold space for all of a potential client’s identities and cultures as we work together in the therapeutic space.
