I am a nonbinary transgender woman and identify as queer/bi/lesbian. I am the first US-born child to a family from Nicaragua, and speak fluent Spanish as a consequence of both that and having been raised in South Florida. I have been out as queer for over half my life. I am a previous member of the Omaha LGBTQ+ Mayoral Advisory Board and have experience with advocacy for LGBTQIA2S+ rights with a focus on healthcare rights for gender-diverse adults and youth alike. I regularly offer education opportunities for healthcare students (to include mental healthcare), other clinicians, and the broad community. My perspectives are informed by my identities, as well as experiences as an ambiamorous individual. While I do a lot of work with LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, I like to infuse an intersectional approach to my work and view people as more than the sum of their parts. Because of this approach, I have significant experience in working with neurodivergent populations (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.), BIPOC, disabilities, and racial/ethnic identity concerns. I also have a special place in my heart for working with diverse couples and families. All my services are rendered via telehealth and are offered statewide in Nebraska, as I have a special affinity for working with folks who are otherwise underserved in more rural or remote areas. My modality is primarily acceptance and commitment therapy, but I also draw on cognitive processing therapy and other third-wave CBT-informed approaches. This allows me to able to work with a wide scope of concerns, from depression and anxiety to trauma-related disorders.
