I am a licensed clinical psychologist (CA, PSY31973) and a queer provider and I actively work to create a space that is safe, affirming, and trauma-informed for my clients. I am a Director of Psychotherapy for an outpatient LGBTQ+ program and a member of WPATH. I have experience and training working in group and individual treatment with clients from diverse gender and sexual orientation backgrounds on topics such as gender identity exploration, navigating transition steps and inviting in (vs. coming out), interpersonal communication strategies, mindfulness and self-compassion for painful emotions, understanding minority stress and rejection sensitivity as vulnerability factors for difficult emotions, and preparing for and recovery from gender affirming surgery (including providing letters). I am a part of a task force with a LGBTQ+ health program (primary care, gynecology, endocrinology) to help understand and address barriers to LGBTQ+ clients finding mental health support. I am also a member of the ASRM LGBTQ Special Interest group and have completed trainings and have experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals going through fertility treatment and the family building process.
