Felicia Wang Sun, Mphil, MD is a neurosurgery resident at Brown Neurosurgery. At Brown she represents the Neurosurgery residency in the Brown Minority House Staff Association; and represents the field in Brown University’s pipeline program Mentorship, Early Exposure, and Training in Surgery (MEETS) to introduce underserved high school students to surgical subspecialties. She organized the first medic tent sanctioned by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) at the Black Lives Matter protests. When the RIDOH was housing Providence’s Covid19+ undomiciled population at the Wyndham hotel, Dr. Sun served as their resident physician. Her call to medicine is clearly rooted in service, collaboration, and leveraging her academic clout to contribute to broader socio-political change. Her subsurgical interest includes spine surgery including spinal oncology, deformity, minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic spine surgery, intradural and congenital spine pathologies.
