I have worked in birth work and reproductive health care for over 12 years. I’m passionate about helping individuals and families make important reproductive choices and helping them grow their families in any way that suits them. I started my career as a labor and delivery nurse in San Francisco and New York for 8 years before returning to graduate school to complete dual training as a student midwife and nurse practitioner and went on to become board certified as a women’s health nurse practitioner specializing in Fertility Care. I was first introduced to Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility when my wife and I first set out on our journey to parenthood. We needed the help of IVF using donor sperm to have our daughter and intrauterine insemination with donor sperm to conceive our son. I have been a patient navigating the road to queer parenthood and I personally understand the many and complex obstacles we face. I feel incredibly honored and privileged to now be able to provide LGBTQ informed, patient centered, individualized care to help these individuals grow their family the way that they want to. That might mean fertility preservation prior to gender affirming care, reciprocal IVF care using donor sperm and more. The individual/family is the leader of their own care and I am there to provide care and act as a guide as we find our way. Tradition IVF care has been prohibitively expensive for most families and Open Fertility is finally doing something about it by increasing access in all ways, we look forward to meeting you!
