My introduction to learning about LGBTQ+ communities began in my undergraduate years at UC Davis in the Women and Gender Studies Department, over 26 years ago. That’s also where my education began regarding issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, privilege, discrimination, etc. In all transparency, I’ve mostly worked with lesbian and bisexual clients in my psychotherapy practice, as a social worker in hospice, and in my internships through graduate school in the Bay Area at UC Berkeley. While they are the ones who have frequently found their way to my practice, everyone is welcome. I’ve taken countless trainings in school as well as continuing education courses to help me continuing learning and improving my ability to serve LGBTQ+ communities. I’m also blessed to have members of LGBTQ+ communities amongst my best friends and loved ones. I think you’ll feel seen and welcome in my practice.
