I am, Jean Marie Johnson M.S. CCC-SLP licensed Speech Language Pathologist in Mississippi I am the owner/operator of Coastal Clarity Speech & Communication, a division of Coastal Clarity Collective, where I provide gender-affirming voice and communication therapy to individuals seeking to align their voice with their identity in an authentic and sustainable way.
With over 11 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, I have worked extensively with adults across medical and outpatient settings, including individuals navigating voice and communication changes for gender affirmation; including cisgender and transgender clients. My goal is to provide a supportive, evidence-based approach to voice training that prioritizes both vocal health and personal expression, whether a client is seeking a more masculine, feminine, or androgynous communication style.
Why Gender-Affirming Voice Care Matters
Many individuals seeking gender-affirming voice therapy are unaware of the risks of vocal strain when attempting to modify their voice without guidance. Without proper technique, they may develop hoarseness, vocal fatigue, or even long-term damage. My approach ensures that clients develop their voice safely, with effective techniques for pitch, resonance, intonation, articulation, and nonverbal communication, allowing them to communicate with confidence and ease.
I have participated in several LGBTQ specific trainings including but not limited to;

Other therapeutic services include; but not limited to, cognitive therapy (attention, memory, executive disfunction), aphasia, aphonia, dysarthria, dysphagia, acquired CAPD (central auditory processing disorder), dementia, progressive neurologic disorders and more.
