As a queer, agender person, my career in mental health emerged from a passion for social justice and a desire to utilize care and compassion as ways to resist the systemic injustices in the world. I have worked in community social services, occupying a wide range of roles and helping clients navigate a variety of different institutions for ten years. I pursued my master of social work (MSW) degree in order to deepen my understanding and broaden my skills with clinical mental health.
I work through narrative, helping you shift how you think and feel about the world. Sometimes the stories we’ve constructed about ourselves are harsh and unhealthy. I help you reframe a more constructive story that allows you to feel good about yourself. You will find yourself empowered to create your own ways of being in the world and relating to others.
There is a future for you where you do not have to worry about everything and everyone. You will be comfortable telling people what you’re feeling and asking for help.
This is the power of a new self-narrative.
I love guiding my clients through rewriting their stories and getting to a point where they are ready to share themselves with the world.
Currently, I work directly with folks from queer and marginalized communities who are experiencing struggles in their lives, both from internal and external sources.
I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Cal State Sacramento and am a registered ACSW #115891 with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. I am supervised by Renae Johnson LPCC #6018 and Kristen Crowe LPCC #5451.
