I work with individuals and couples in Washington, D.C., with particular experience supporting people seeking self-acceptance, especially when a religious tradition has made that difficult. Before training as a marriage and family therapist, I spent years in pastoral care and LGBTQ+ advocacy work, which shapes how I think about the overlap between faith, family, and identity.
With couples, I draw on the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, including discernment counseling for those weighing whether to stay or go. With individuals, I work from Internal Family Systems and trauma-informed approaches. I integrate spirituality into the work only at a client’s request.
My practice is LGBTQ+-affirming, and I work with non-monogamous and polyamorous clients as part of the practice, not as an exception.
