To his work as a therapist, John Russell Stanger brings over a decade of experience working with adolescents outside the therapy room. He also incorporates his expertise in working with and advocating for LGBTQ people. Before training as a therapist, John Russell served as the Executive Director of an LGTBQ advocacy organization in New York, New York. He is particularly skilled at working with people desiring self-acceptance—especially when their religious tradition has made that a challenge. (While he is prepared to help clients incorporate their spirituality into therapy, this is done only at the request of the client.)
