I am a board-certified PA with a certificate of additional qualifications in psychiatry (CAQ-Psychiatry). I have experience working with adults with a myriad of psychiatric illnesses, but I have a vested interest in LGBTQ+ mental healthcare, treatment-resistant depression, personality disorders, and trauma-based disorders. I have experience in several psychotherapeutic modalities, including motivational interviewing, supportive psychotherapy, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy.
I believe that treatment plans should be individualized and developed in a collaborative manner between provider and patient. I use an evidence-based, harm-reduction approach to treatment planning that includes lifestyle modifications (e.g., nutrition/diet, physical activity), medication management, and psychotherapy to get patient’s feeling themselves again. In addition, I provide psychiatric evaluations and documentation for patients undergoing gender-affirming medical care.
When I am not working, I spend time with my two dogs, weightlifting, playing kickball through Stonewall Sports, exploring the Raleigh community, playing video games, and completing house projects.
