I am the owner of an LGBT certified business enterprise, specializing in mental health therapy. A large number of my clients and clients within the practice identify as LGBT. I have lived experience as an openly gay male and completed a graduate level internship at Affirmations, Michigan’s largest LGBT community center. I also worked previously at Corktown Health, Michigan’s first LGBT medical home, as a clinical therapist. I was our agencies lead therapist on a national research program through AIDS United and Fenway Health to improve behavioral health outcomes among people living with HIV (PLWH) via the collaborative care model. Additionally, I have written dozens of gender support letters according to WPATH Standards of Care and have consulted with other therapists in improving their understanding surrounding nonmonogamy, gender identity, use of pronouns, hormone therapy, sexual orientation and mixed-orientation marriages. Additionally, I have presented at local and national LGBT conferences, including the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA).
