I provide fully affirming counseling services for LGBTQ+ individuals ages 14 and up, as well as couples and family counseling. I am intentional about remaining up to date on current standards of care for affirming practice, including WPATH standards, and I engage actively in the development of scholarship that supports the well-being of LGBTQ+ persons. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hendrix College and my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler. I’m licensed as an LPC-Associate (supervised by Kimberly Watts Hoggatt, JD, MA, LPC-S) in Texas and provide both virtual and in-person sessions. I’m a nationally certified counselor (NCC) and an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE), the Texas Counseling Association (TCA), and the Texas Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling (TALGBTIC), and I also participate in community service endeavors with the San Antonio LGBTQ+ community. In my work with clients, I primarily utilize a combination of narrative and existential therapies, and I integrate other modalities appropriately based on the individual needs of my clients. My goal is to support my clients as they work to understand themselves and their unique stories, identify and develop their strengths, and apply those strengths to navigate life’s challenges.
