I am a board certified internal medicine and pediatric physician training in adolescent medicine and gender-affirming care for youth and young adults. I am the Medical Director of the WVU Medicine Children’s Gender & Sexual Development Clinic in Morgantown, WV and am an executive board member of the Tri-State Gender Collaborative, a group of medical and mental health professionals as well as community leaders focused on resource sharing to improve the lives of transgender, nonbinary, and other gender diverse people in our region. I have received formal training through WPATH as part of their Global Education Initiative and served on the 2021 USPATH Conference Scientific Committee. I provide training on gender-affirming care and transgender health for medical and mental health professionals at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels. My research focuses on supporting gender diverse youth and their families and expanding access to gender-affirming care and has been published in Pediatrics, JAMA Pediatrics, Journal of Adolescent Health, Transgender Health, and other peer-reviewed publications. I provide support, resources, and medical gender-affirming care to adolescents and young adults throughout the state of West Virginia and our surrounding region.
